I've noticed over time that the main themes in my dreams (or nightmares) continue to be death, getting lost, people turning on me, or something/someone after me. In the death ones (which are seemingly dominant) it can be me dead, someone else (who's really alive) ending up dead, deceased relatives, or everyone dead. Getting lost, well that's obvious. Sometimes I'll be going the right way, look over my shoulder, and look back to find that I'm lost - in a totally different place. People turning on me, well, that means everyone who in real life loves me decides otherwise, and something/someone after me, well, another obvious one.
What's fascinating to me, however, is looking up the supposed meaning behind all these dreams. So the one I remember last night is as follows:
Answering MachineTo see an answering machine in your dream, suggests that you are not listening to a message that someone around you is trying to convey. Perhaps you are experiencing difficulties and frustration in understanding some idea or viewpoint.
DeadTo see the dead in your dream, forewarns that you are being influenced by negative people and are hanging around the wrong crowd. You may suffer material loss. This dream may also be a way for you to resolve your feelings with those who have passed on. If you dream of a person who has died a long time ago, then it suggests that a current situation or relationship in you life resembles the quality of that deceased person.
The dream may depict how you need to let this situation or relationship die and end it.To see and talk with your dead parents in your dreams, represents your fears of losing them or your way of coping with the loss. You may want that last opportunity to say your final good-byes to them.To see your dead sibling, relative, or friend in your dream, indicates that you miss them and are trying to relive your old experiences you had with them. In trying to keep up with the pace of your daily waking life, you dreams may serve as your only outlet in coping and coming to terms with the loss of a loved one.
GardenTo see a vegetable or fruit garden in your dream, indicates that your hard work and diligence will pay off in the end. It is also symbolic of stability, potential, and inner growth. You need to cultivate a new skill or nurture your spiritual and personal growth. To see a flower garden in your dream, represents tranquility, comfort, love and domestic bliss. You need to be more nurturing.
To see sparse, weed-infested garden, suggests that you have neglected your spiritual needs. You are not on top of things. SunshineTo dream of sunshine, indicates that you are experiencing some sort of emotional or situational breakthrough. The dream is offering you reassurance and that you are headed on the right track.
At least I find this interesting, considering I couldn't sleep last night. Maybe later.
(The places that are striked through are the places that I don't consider important to the particular dream I had, meh.)

huh, crazy.. intresting... very interesting. (-:
it is interesting. i hate those types of dream, or nightmares. or what the heck ever. waking up catching my breath is no fun at all. hope all goes well for you.
@acst2 - Ah, I agree. What's worse is when you wake up freaked out or something and have no memory of the dream; so it's kind of like you're scared of everything until your mind kind of catches up. And thank you. (:
